Merry Christmas
Christmas for us is always a lot of fun. The kids get so excited as we pull down all of the boxes full of Christmas decorations and begin to transform the house into what the kids perceive to be a magical place. Decorating the tree with my family has always been one of my favorite things since most of the ornaments have meaning. We were always given or made an ornament every year when I was a kid that in some way related to things we had done during that year or sometimes it was a picture ornament of us. We have carried that tradition with our family and I love all the memories that come with unwrapping each ornament and placing it on the tree.
If you noticed the presents under the tree all coordinate, that is thanks in part to Andrew. Two years ago we had a problem with tags coming off of presents and then we didn't know who it belonged to until after it was open and of course the entire world fell apart if the gift was opened by the wrong child. The next year I had the idea to wrap every one's gift in their own special wrapping paper so even if the tag came off we knew who it belonged to. It worked great but Andrew after opening all the gifts mentioned how great it would have been if the wrapping paper all coordinated. So to humor him this year I made sure it did :)
With the addition of Daniel to our family, we ran out of room for our stockings by the fireplace unless Andrew moved all of our hooks (too much trouble for me this year) so instead Andrew and I just shared one. Maybe next year we'll get all seven of them up.
Emily and Sarah were so excited to see what Santa had put inside their snowman stockings.
Elizabeth has an old suitcase she got several years ago and takes it anytime she spends the night somewhere. The twins have been dropping hints for awhile that they wanted a suitcase like Elizabeth's. The girls were so excited when they opened their gift from Elizabeth and saw that she had gotten them matching princess suitcases.
Santa really knew Elizabeth well and this year he surprised her. Elizabeth kept mentioning that she would love to have an EZ Bake Oven but the box said it was for children 8 or older and she was only 7. She figured this meant the earliest she could have one was for her birthday in April. Santa figured she was old enough and the excitement on her face when she saw it was priceless.
Joseph loves Thomas the train and for Christmas this year Grandma got him his own train set! It was actually hard to get him to stop playing with it long enough to open the rest of his gifts.
Santa brought Joseph a Basketball Hoop that was just right for a growing boy. Joseph decided he hadn't quit grown enough for it yet and fixed this problem with a chair :) 
This is the youngest any of my children have been for a first Christmas but that sure didn't stop Daniel from enjoying himself. He loved to look at the lights on the Christmas tree and would turn to the sound of Christmas music. He liked Christmas so much he decided to tell his daddy all about it.
