Santa Claus

OK, so it was crazy how much the malls and such wanted to charge just for a picture with Santa, so this year we decided to find a free place to get one. Our local library has a story-time complete with songs, dancing, and a craft that we attend every week. They also decided to have a Christmas Carnival this past Saturday with you guessed it, free pictures with Santa! We got the kids all dressed up cute and they were all so excited to see Santa. When we got there Santa had not yet arrived so we sat and listened to several prominent local figures read Christmas Stories. I say "sat" but since 7 stories were read the kids actually didn't do much sitting by the end. The Library did have a popcorn machine for the occasion and free bags of popcorn did help the little ones sit a bit longer than they normally would have. Once the stories were over we moved into another room where they had hot dogs, funnel cakes, and sodas for everyone. While the kids were enjoying their lunch who finally showed up . . . Santa! Now after all this waiting you would think our little ones would be thrilled to see him. Not!! The moment he walked in the room Emily and Sarah freaked out! They started screaming, ran to me and buried their faces in my lap. While clinging to me they kept shouting that they wanted to go home! I think everyone there was laughing at that point. It took some persuasion, but Andrew and I finally got them to sit close enough to Santa for a picture.

So here is our 2008 Santa Picture :)

At least you'll have a fun story to go with that picture! I'm impressed that you are in there with the kids. :)
