Spring Break in FL

Elizabeth had the week off of school for spring break and Mom and Dad Wilkin invited us to spend it with them down in FL. Of course we said yes! We love getting to spend time with them and the kids love being with their Grandparents. Also getting to go to the beach is a nice bonus :) I noticed a couple things uploading my pictures from the trip. First we didn't actually take any pictures the beach or the pool, and second I must have taken all the pictures because I'm not in a single one. Oh well :)

Here are some pictures of the kids having fun inside. I love the place in Florida; it is beautiful and decorated so well. Anyway, the book Elizabeth is reading Joseph is "10 Little Fish" and right now it is his favorite book. He will carry it around trying to get any and everyone to read it too him. He also wants it read to him before every nap and each night before bed. I'll have to admit it is a cute little story.

We brought down some of the kids toys with us like these Barbies the twins are playing with. Not the best picture of Sarah, but Oh well.

Here are the girls in their beds. If you notice the blue tape on the wall it is there for a reason. Mom is stenciling words around the wall pertaining to the beach. The tape was straight and level until the girls got a hold of it and pulled it off. They tried to put it back hoping no one would notice, but not exactly straight and level anymore!
We took lots of walks to different places while we were there in Sand Destin. The resort community has so many fun things to do and see. Dad went with us on some of our walks and I just loved this picture of little Joseph holding his Grandpa's finger. Just too sweet.
This is one of the many fun places to go, a tree house! Joseph has no fear of heights (or anything else for that matter) and love being up at the top with his daddy.

People tell me all the time that our kids are like little stair steps, well I guess they are right!
This Bird is Taylor and he spends most of his days outside a shop at the Marina. He says many phrases and even does tricks. The kids loved getting to visit him everyday.

As I mentioned we went on a lot of walks and sometimes the kids got tired. When that happened Daddy's shoulders came to the rescue! He was a little sore having them on his shoulders from a slip-n-slide incident he had the first day of vacation. Too bad I don't' have a picture of that!!
There was a little Village near the wharf that had lots of shops and a really fun playground that the kids loved. There was also this enormous chair that we couldn't resist getting a picture on.

Next are some pictures of the 5 kids (I'm including Andrew as a kid here) playing on the playground.
To help get Joseph used to the slide Andrew went down with him a few times. At least that is the excuse Andrew gave. I personally think he was dying to go down the slide!

Once he got the hang of it Joseph loved going the slide over and over and over again!

One of the girls favorite things was this tire swing. I don't think they had ever been on a swing like this before and they had a blast on it!
We spent most evenings on the beach, but I don't have any pictures. One evening there we a whole lot of squids that kept washing up on shore. Elizabeth was daring and even picked one up to throw it back into the ocean. Boy was she surprised when it started flashing bright colors!
Spring break was so much fun and we are so thankful to Mom and Dad for allowing us to come and for putting up with our noisy children :) It was so nice getting to spend time with them.

How fun! I've never been to Florida. I hope Grandma had a sense of humor about that tape!

She made my husband put it up all of the rest of the way around the room with a level and measure.
Glad that you guys had a good time with Mom and Dad! We miss Florida we love it so much! It's to bad it is such a longggg drive for us. That is crazy that squids were coming up on the shore. I read that part to Justin and his response was "SQUIDS!!!" That is great that Elizabeth was so brave. I don't think her Aunt Lindsay would have been as brave. Looks like you guys had a BLAST!!! Tell Andrew that his Jello eating contest days can continue when he and Justin are in Florida together again. :)
