Elizabeth Field Trip

Elizabeth's last field trip in the first grade was to a Science Center and she was so excited since they would miss the entire day of school for it, ride on chartered buses, and her mom got to go too!

They had a weather station where Elizabeth got to stand in front of the green screen and pretend to be the meteorologist.
She was so excited afterwards when her segment was "aired" and she got to see herself on the TV.

I'm glad there wasn't really a hurricane heading our way!

I think Elizabeth spent almost an hour here with these boards. She loved making hand and face prints and then coming around to the other side to see how it looked. Kinda reminds me of a bug on the windshield :)
Next she was an archaeologist digging for dinosaur bones. I think she found one!

Speaking of old bones, this is the fossil of an ancient sea turtle. Man that thing was big!

Testing her strength, she got to pull herself up at this station .
Yet another of her favorites. If placed just right the ball would stay suspended in the streams of water. I can only imagine what Joseph would have done at this station :)

This is the only station where Elizabeth wished her daddy was there instead of me. This plane is in a sort of wind tunnel and if the controls are done right it was supposed to fly. I personally think the thing was broken because we never did get it to take off.
There was also an aquarium in the Science center. Elizabeth had the most fun watching the turtles. I think that's because over the preceding weeks she and her daddy rescued two different turtles from the middle of the road. Did I ever mention Elizabeth wants to be a wild animal rescuer when she grows up (at least for now)?

Live Bait :)

Here they learned about some different dinosaurs and Elizabeth got to help out a little.
In the optical illusion section she was fascinated at how different she looked in height depending on where in this unique house she stood. Really short . . .

Or really tall :)
It was a really fun trip and I was so glad to go and spend the day with Elizabeth.
