My Dishwasher

Ok, I have a very quirky dishwasher. It came with the house and was actually one of the only appliances that did (there was no hot water heater and the stove that was here was ancient and didn't work). Anyway the dishwasher does work but I have to have the dishes rinsed off pretty well and I can only use the gel detergent (the powder or the neat little square ones don't dissolve). The BEST part of the dishwasher is what you have to do to get it to run. There is a switch on the wall that controls the power to the dishwasher and in order to get it to run you have to keep flipping the switch up and down and up and down until finally the thing decides to start. And then near the end of the washing cycle there is this really loud bang that scared me to death the first time I heard it, but now we know it is just the monster inside the dishwasher trying desperately to get out. Eventually we will replace the thing, but for now I'll just keep flipping the switch.

Sounds like your dishwasher is like the Braves ... an antiquated monster that needs to be drug outside and beaten into submission ... and the Red Sox are the dishwasher repairmen ... [ all this sounded better in my head than typed out :^) ]

Originally she said that I did not have to replace this appliance, but sounds like a big hint to me... Maybe once the windows, painting, attic and various honey-do list items are finished. Love you, Andrew.

We just recently got a "new to us" dishwasher, I am loving having one that works. We went for a couple of months without, it's just so nice to have one again that water runs through.
