Elizabeth's Slumber Party

Turning 8 is a big deal, so we let Elizabeth have a very special Birthday party. She had a surprise slumber party!

Andrew was out of town the weekend we had it (I think he may have planned that on purpose) so my mom, dad, and Mary Beth were all gracious enough to come and help me at the party. Miriam was also wonderful and had the twins sleep at her house so I would have two less of my own kids to worry about.


While waiting for the birthday girl to arrive her guests all decorated a large Birthday Card for Elizabeth.
When she pulled up in the driveway they all hid behind the couch.
SURPRISE!!!

The evening was full with lots of fun activities. They painted their own pillowcases, did makeovers on each other, had a freeze dance (everyone dances and when the music stops they all freeze),
ate pizza, cake, and ice cream,

opened presents,

and watched movies!

Twins in Trouble

The twins were supposed to be in their beds in their room watching a movie for quiet time while Joseph was taking a nap today. I heard them in the kitchen and asked them why they were out of their room. They instantly started saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" so naturally I went to see what they were so sorry about. When I saw them I put them in the tub right away and asked them what happened . . . And the diagnosis is . . .

Friday morning Emily woke up with a fever. By Sat night it got up to 105! Boy was she a sick baby. Sun morning while Andrew took Elizabeth and Sarah to church I took Emily to Primed. Her WBC was high (21) so the doc new it was a bacterial infection and gave her a shot of antibiodics. He didn't run any other tests though so we didn't know where the infection was. (I was kinda frustrated about that) Even with motrin and tylenol she ran a nasty fever the rest of the day. Monday I took Emily to her regular Dr who ran all kinds of tests and discovered my poor baby girl had Pnemonia!!! She got another shot of antibiodics and was put on oral antibiodics for 10 days. Her oxygen level was great so I got to take her home, but I have to take her back in a week for a repeat chest x-ray to make sure the pnemonia is gone. Sarah started running a fever Sunday night so the doctor did a work up on her and found she had elevated WBC too so she was put on antibiodics as well to fight off the inf...
