Daniel's doing better

I've been updating facebook about Daniel's status, but don't get on here as much so here is what has happened the past couple days.

(Tues am) After a rough evening (blood transfusion and being placed on nitric oxide which helps his lungs absorb the oxygen better), Daniel had a good night and was finally able to keep his oxygen levels up. He is still on the ventilator, and so far today things are looking good.

(Tues pm) I got to sleep in today and take a really good nap this afternoon. It's nice to have such a wonderful husband so willing to be Mr. Mom :) Daniel has been doing great all day and we are hoping he will make it home in 2-3 weeks. Thank you for all your prayers.

(Wed am) Daniel remains stable, had a good night and so far today is doing well. The Dr isn't ready to make any changes yet and is leaving him be for the moment.

(Wed afternoon) Daniel is doing well and they were able to decrease the settings on his ventilator a bit. One little step at a time :)

(Wed pm) Just got back from visiting Daniel and they removed one of his chest tubes! He is doing really well and now only has 2 chest tubes left. Still on the ventilator but it will be a while before he can come off that.

(Thurs pm) Daniel is doing so well they started weaning him off his nitric oxcide tonight (gas given with the oxygen in his vent to help the lungs absorb more oxygen). One more step in the right direction!

I am amazed at the time that you have spent in hospitals with your children. I don't know how you do it. I am glad that he is making improvements. Big hugs and lots of prayers!

Our Trip to the Fair

The Alabama National Fair was in town this week so we decided to take the kids (although I think we had just as much fun as they did!) One of the first things we did was go to the circus. When we got inside the big tent we found some friends of ours (their little girl is Elizabeth's best friend) so we hung out with them most of the time we were there. Our seats were right in the front and I was amazed at how close the elephants came to us. There were also jugglers, clowns, and some performing horses. It was a lot of fun. We also got to watch the sea lions do their tricks. They balanced a ball on their nose, shot some hoops, danced for us, and even caught and threw Frisbees ! The girls were amazed by them; Joseph missed it all since he fell asleep in his stroller right before it started. Twins in Trouble

The twins were supposed to be in their beds in their room watching a movie for quiet time while Joseph was taking a nap today. I heard them in the kitchen and asked them why they were out of their room. They instantly started saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" so naturally I went to see what they were so sorry about. When I saw them I put them in the tub right away and asked them what happened . . . They some how managed to get into Elizabeth's ink and stamp set and decided to decorate themselves and their bedroom. You can tell by the look on Sarah's face she knows she is in trouble. And Emily doesn't seem any happier. They colored their beds Elizabeth's Bed And the rug on their floor. After their bath they spent the next two hours scrubbing everything they touched in the kitchen, their ink footprints off the floor, and the rug in their room.
